Cave transformation in Carramaiza, Granada (GR) Spain

To inhabit the mountain, protect yourself from the cold, protect yourself from the heat, admire the views from your entrance. This has marked the tradition of the caves in Baza in the course of history.

A single perforation marks the entrance, enhanced with a concrete podium, giving way to other rooms sculpted in the rock .. We enter the darkness, where a minimal intervention as a wall offset in plaster introduces a line of light that guides us in the gloom. A continuous line, leaves apparent the materiality of the rock, in contrast with sober materials, plastered walls and a ceramic floor, as a tribute to my country, Granada, the Alhambra and Fajalauza ceramics.
